How to make a oval keychain using sketchup.
first choose your template as milimeters.
then change your view to top.
get your rectangle tool, and start your rectangle in the middle of the square.
while on your rectangle tool type 100,40.
press the "zoom extents" tool and you will zoom in.
with the tape measuring tool find the midpoint on the top and bottom of the rectangle.
find five mm from the top going towards the middle of the rectangle.
to the same to the bottom of the rectangle.
then with the tape measering tool and find the midpoint on the right and left side of the rectangle.
tap on the midpoint of the left sides of the rectangle and type in 20.
then grab your "2 point arc" tool and on the 5mm line and go down to the other side of the rectangle.
go to the side of the rectangle to make a half circle like so.
do the same to the other side.
then on the 5mm intrersection with the 20mm line and make a half circle like so.
do the same to the other side.
then get your line tool out and connect the to half circles inside the borders.
get the eraser tool and erase the corners of the base.
then erase the middle of the base so you just have the borders
use the orbit tool so you can see the shape from a good angle.
then use the "push pull tool" and raise the borders 5mm.
and theres your base for the keychain;)
